Meet Michele
Michele’s priority as a Founder and Wealth Advisor of Randall & Pobar is to help clients on their financial journey while focusing on their unique circumstances. She appreciates that every person’s path is different and attempts to help each client discover their priorities and plan accordingly. There is no one-size-fits-all approach at Randall & Pobar.
With nearly four decades of experience in the financial services industry, Michele is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designee. She earned her BA in Business Administration from Carthage College and her AS in Banking and Financial Services from Gateway Technical College. Additionally, Michele has studied at Cannon Financial Institute’s Private Banking and Trust schools.
Michele started her financial services career in banking in 1987 as a central file clerk sort of accidentally. She was looking for a summer job and saw on a bank marquee ‘applications inside’. After asking for an application from bank staff who seemed confused as to whether they were hiring, she further read the sign …’for Alice in Dairyland’! Fortunately, there was a job opening that the staff wasn’t aware of yet and the rest is history.
Following positions of increasing responsibility in the banking world, Michele made the move to exclusively focus on financial advising and planning over 20 years ago. In 2012 she partnered with Janet Pobar and chose the independent financial advisor path, a move which has proven to be far better than ever imagined.
Michele has a strong commitment to the community. She serves on the investment committee for Racine Community Foundation and is past Chair of the board of Gateway Technical College Foundation, currently serving on their finance and investment committee. Past community service includes: Treasurer, special events committee member and fundraising committee chair for Health Care Network; board member of the Jane Cremer Foundation; special event committee member for Racine Symphony, Junior Achievement, Racine Zoo, Racine YWCA and American Heart Association. Michele is a past member of TEMPO Racine and the Racine/Kenosha Estate Planning Council.
Gateway Technical College Foundation honored Michele with a Distinguished Alumni award for achieving excellence in her field while exhibiting outstanding leadership, character and service. She was recognized by Tempo International with their Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her dedication, leadership and accomplishments.
Michele and her husband, Garrett, enjoy traveling to the beach to escape a couple weeks of Wisconsin’s winters each year. In the spring and summer Michele enjoys patio and garden time in her lovely yard. She likes to cook and set beautiful tables to enjoy food and wine with family and friends. Her favorite title is Auntie Shel, a name fondly given to her by her now 34-year-old nephew and carried on by her other nieces and nephews.
